About the Founder
Candidate for MSc. in Nuclear Medicinal Chemistry
My name is Simona Mastroianni, and I obtained my BSc in Chemistry with Honours degree in April 2023. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I have completed three co-op work terms, which have allowed me to earn a co-op degree. In addition to excelling in my academic and professional pursuits, I have developed a passion for educating and supporting others, particularly in the realm of academic success.
After my first year of university, I became a supplemental leading instructor for first-year calculus at the University of British Columbia, which sparked my interest in tutoring. Since then, I have worked as a teaching assistant, tutorial leader, and supplemental leader for six undergraduate courses in chemistry and mathematics. I have also launched a successful tutoring company specializing in second-year organic chemistry and have individually tutored over 25 students, all of whom achieved great success.
My teaching style is adaptable and tailored to the needs and preferences of each student, and I am adept at breaking down complex concepts into understandable terms. I prioritize engaging lesson plans, personalized feedback, and a supportive learning environment to ensure that every student achieves success.
Alongside my teaching experience, I have an impressive curriculum vitae, including undergraduate research awards, research in the PlantSMART lab at UBC Okanagan, and volunteer tutoring at UBC Okanagan and in the community. One of my most notable work experiences was at the Canadian Nuclear Particle Accelerator, where I developed radiopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment. This work has inspired me to pursue a master's degree in this field, which I will begin in September 2023.
Having shared my accomplishments over the past five years, I hope to inspire you to join me on my journey as one of my tutees. I am excited to apply my expertise and passion for teaching to help you achieve your academic goals.
